Watch Katherine Putnam Crowned Miss Louisiana 2009

JUNE 20, 2009  

Katherine Putnam's title changed from Miss Shreveport to Miss Louisiana 2009 as she took the crown Saturday Night live in the W.L. Jack Howard Theatre!  Putnam, age 22, attends the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  When asked what her most valuable life lesson has been, she states, "Success for me is not the destination, but finding joy in the journey!"

Hope Anderson (Miss University of Louisiana Monroe) was first runner up tonight.  Anderson is 20 years old and attends ULM. 

Friday's Preliminary Awards go to Hope Anderson & Kenley Minchew

Hope Anderson (Miss University of Louisiana Monroe) was awarded the winner of Friday's swimsuit and physical fitness preliminary.  Anderson is 20 years old and attends ULM. 

Kenley Minchew (Miss Lafayette) took the talent award, with the broadway-style vocal performance of, Showoff.  Minchew is 22 years old and attends Louisiana State University.

Katie Cook & Brittany McGehee take Thursday's Preliminary Awards

Katie Cook (Miss Spirit of Pineville) was awarded the winner of Thursday's swimsuit and physical fitness preliminary.  Cook is 19 years old and attends Louisiana State University in Shreveport. 

Brittany McGehee (Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival) took the talent award, with the piano piece, La Companela.  McGehee is 22 years old and attends Bryan College.
